XREFplus+DBR: Batch Asset Management and Document
XREFplus+ DBr is a flexible and easy-to-use tool that collects metadata from your installation’s JCL, programs, datasets, and other data sources and correlates that information into a DB2 repository database. The XREFplus+DBr database is available for cross reference analysis via a Web UI.
The DB2 database can be accessed through either TSO/ISPF, Windows, a WEB browser or batch DB2 operations. The database can reside on a host using DB2 for z/OS; or on a PC using DB2 for Unix, Linux or Windows.
Data can be efficiently collected from several different sources, including data from scheduling components such as Control-M and TWS, JCL data, SMF data, and DB2 Catalog data. The data collection processes are run asynchronously and can be run in parallel. The open database architecture promotes easy integration of other data with data collected by XREFplus+DBr. Queries can be formulated to retrieve the desired data.
JCL members can be “drilled down” to capture data at various levels such as JOB card, Step level and DD level. For example, frequency distribution counts can be retrieved indicating the number of jobs running in each job class.
